CALS/VCE - Virtual Program - Food Innovations
September 14, 2022
2-3 p.m. ET

The Food Producer Technical Assistance Network (formerly the Food Innovations Program) at Virginia Tech was developed to provide support for food businesses and entrepreneurs in Virginia. The program’s reach has since expanded across the entire country. In the last 5 years, the program has assisted about 650 individuals and businesses by analyzing more than 1700 food products.

As part of the extension network in the Department of Food Science and Technology under the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, we endeavor to provide affordable and valuable assistance to ensure the safety of food products produced in Virginia and beyond. In addition to the services provided by our program, the Department of Food Science and Technology has extension specialists whose areas of expertise include produce safety, enology (the study of wine), aquaculture, seafood, food handler training and more. Join Joell Eifert, Director of Food Innovations Program and Melissa Wright, Director of Food Producer Technical Assistance Network.

If you are an individual with a disability and desire an accommodation, please contact Joi Saville at (540) 231-1096 or email jdyer@vt.edu during regular business hours at least 10 business days prior to the event. Live captioning will be provided.
