Third Thursday Lunch & Learn: Burning Ring of Fire, with Adam Coates
February 18, 2021
Noon-1 p.m. EST

Love is in the air during the month of February, but it may not be the only thing in the air during late winter and early spring here in the eastern United States. Prescribed fire is actively used in this region to reduce potentially hazardous wildland fuels, restore and maintain wildlife habitat, and control undesired vegetative species. In this session, Assistant Professor Adam Coates of the Department of Forest Resources and Environmental Conservation will highlight the complicated relationship that exists between humans and wildland fire and how active forest management may present critical solutions for 21st century megafires and ecosystem restoration.

There is no charge for attendance; however, we have provided an option to make a gift at check-out for those who would like to contribute. All gifts will benefit the Department of Forest Resources & Environmental Conservation Annual Fund.

Registration for this event is closed. You can view a recording of this event and other events hosted by the College of Natural Resources and Environment here: https://cnre.vt.edu/alumni-and-giving/get-involved.html.
