Third Thursday Lunch & Learn: To Feed or Not to Feed Wild Birds, with Ashley Dayer
April 15, 2021
Noon-1 p.m.

Who feeds wild birds? How does it impact birds and people? Assistant Professor Ashley Dayer of the Department of Fish and Wildlife Conservation will describe how the social sciences are advancing the understanding of human dimensions of bird conservation with a focus on bird feeding. She will shed new light on how people in the U.S. feed birds, what motivates this behavior, and what actions they can take to manage predators and disease at feeders. She will address how the interactions between birds and the people who feed them may impact both bird populations and human well-being, and share resources for responsible bird feeding.

There is no charge for attendance; however, we have provided an option to make a gift at check-out for those who would like to contribute. All gifts will benefit the Department of Fish & Wildlife Conservation Annual Fund.
