Things Are Getting a Little Batty, with Dr. Mark Ford
October 15, 2020
12-1 p.m.

Can you imagine a Halloween without bats? In some parts of Virginia, the bat community is facing unprecedented threats from an invasive fungal disease, wind-energy expansion, and urbanization. This talk will address how Virginia Tech researchers have been working to better define distribution, current status, and habitat associations/needs within and surrounding the commonwealth. These efforts are leading to efficient ways to monitor bats to inform other stewardship needs to minimize negative impacts and maximize positive impacts.

There is no charge for attendance; however, we have provided an option to make a gift at check-out for those who would like to contribute. All gifts will benefit the Fish and Wildlife Conservation (FWC) Annual Fund.
