The Big Event: Invasive Plant Removal at Annandale Community ParkSunday, April 1910 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Join the DC Hokies to remove invasive plans on Sunday, April 19th from 10am-12pm at Annandale Community Park, part of Hidden Oaks Nature Center.
Help save trees in our area parks from the chokehold of English Ivy, porcelain berry and other invasive nonnative vines. Not only will you help contain tree loss in this special park, but volunteers also learn useful, simple skills to use at home to save their own trees. No experience necessary!
If you have work gloves, pruners, loppers or saws, please bring them with you. There will be extra on hand if you do not have any work items. No power tools please. We will provide water. Please wear long sleeve, long pants and appropriate shoes.
Kids over the age of 12 are welcome with adult supervision.
During checkout you will have the option to make a gift to the DC Hokies Alumni Chapter Scholarship Fund. Thank you for considering a gift!
If you are an individual with a disability and desire an accommodation, please contact Tricia Realbuto, trealbuto@vt.edu during regular business hours at least 10 business days prior to the event.
