Highty-Tighty Alumni Reunion
October 3-4, 2025
The Highty-Tighty alumni band is the essential part of Virginia Tech Homecoming. For more than four decades, Highty-Tighty alumni have marched in the Homecoming parade, and they have performed at the football pre-game show with current Highty-Tighties.
The Highty-Tighty Annual Alumni and Highty-Tighty Cadet Meal will be held at Dietrick Dining Hall—the cost of the meal is $25, and that includes a $5 gift to the Commandant’s Priorities Fund. You will be able to purchase a Highty-Tighty hat for $10 during the registration process. We have provided an opportunity at checkout to make a gift to the Highty-Tighty Annual Fund for those who wish to contribute.

6:00 – 8:00 p.m.: VT Homecoming Parade through Blacksburg
Approx. 8:00 p.m.: Gunny Fest Alumni Party following parade at the Corps Leadership and Military Science Building (CLMS) atrium.

Note: Homecoming weekend also marks the annual meeting of the Highty-Tighty Alumni, Inc., which is held in conjunction with our meal in Dietrick Dining Hall. It is an exciting year for the Highty-Tighties, and you won’t want to miss the updates.
45 minutes before kick-off: Form-up for the current Highty-Tighty Band and Highty-Tighty alumni band pre-game performance outside the southwest tunnel of Lane Stadium
Kickoff TBD: Virginia Tech vs. Wake Forest
A limited block of rooms is reserved for the HT Reunion this year at The Inn at Virginia Tech. A link to make reservations will be provided in your registration confirmation email.
We will have a block of tickets in the South End Zone, near the Corps of Cadets and Highty-Tighties, for the Virginia Tech vs. Wake Forest football game. A promotional code will be provided in the confirmation email upon registration.
It doesn’t matter if your musical skills have diminished, or if you can no longer play your instrument, all Highty-Tighty alumni are invited to join us.
Need to borrow an instrument? You can indicate that on your registration form.
Participation in the Homecoming parade and pre-game performance requires proper attire: khaki pants/skirt (no shorts please), white shirt (with VT tie for men), official HT sweater or new HT pullover, and HT hat. Hats are $10 and can be purchased through the registration process.
Registration ends on 21 September, so don't wait!
Our reunion is a great time for all who have been a part of the regimental band to come together, to march again as a unit, and to continue to share the common experience of the Highty-Tighties.
