Join us on Thursday, September 25 in Charlottesville, Virginia for Hokies for Good featuring Le Wang, Ph.D., Director of Virginia Tech Data Science for the Public Good (DSPG)!
Interested in how data science is shaping the future of agriculture and rural communities? Discover Virginia Tech's Data Science for the Public Good (DSPG) program - an initiative within the Kohl Center at Virginia Tech's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Through the DSPG Young Scholars Program (YSP), Virginia Tech is training the next generation of data scientists, equipping students with hands-on experience solving real-world challenges.
Enjoy a selection of appetizers along with a bar, featuring beer and wine, while hearing from Dr. Le Wang, Director of The Kohl Centre at Virginia Tech and the Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics. Dr. Wang will share insights into the team-based learning, faculty collaboration, and the impact of the Young Scholars Program in supporting rural communities, policymakers, decision-makers, and the public.
Cost is $10 to attend and each registration includes a $5 gift to the DSPG program, which is funded by the Fralin Life Sciences Institute, the Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics, the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, and the Institute for Society, Culture, and Environment. The YSP internship program is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, National Institute of Food and Agriculture.
