This summer, talented Data Science for the Public Good (DSPG) interns worked with industry and community partners to deliver data-driven insights with real world impact. These students represent the future of data science – equipped to tackle complex challenges and drive meaningful change in communities across the Commonwealth and beyond.
Join us over lunch on Friday, September 26, at the beautiful Williamsburg Winery, for Hokies for Good featuring Le Wang, Ph. D., Director of Data Science for the Public Good (DSPG).
Dr. Wang will share how the Data Science for the Public Good program is shaping communities and developing the next generation of data scientists through the Young Scholars Program internship initiative, with insights on the impact of the program in supporting rural communities, policymakers, and the public.
Hokies for Good celebrates members of Hokie Nation who are advancing Virginia Tech’s commitment to service and Dr. Wang’s work exemplifies this spirit. Registration is $15 and includes lunch, one drink ticket for beer or wine, non-alcoholic beverages, and a $5 gift to the Data for the Public Good program.
If you are an individual with a disability and desire an accommodation, please email Jenn Quam Howell at jquam@vt.edu during regular business hours at least 10 business days prior to the event.
