Online registration for OktoberFST 2024 has now closed, however you can still register on-site on the day of the event!
Calling all Food Science and Technology alumni! Celebrate the start of Homecoming weekend with your fellow Foodies at our third annual OktoberFST Alumni Tailgate! Join other alumni for a game of cornhole, take a tour of our brewery, meet our new students, sample our new official Hokie ice cream flavors and beer, win some Virginia Tech swag in our raffle, and more! Kids of all ages are welcome!
We will have:
• Catered Oktoberfest classics including bratwurst, German potato salad, soft pretzels, and more!
• Tours of the on-campus brewery where we develop Virginia Tech’s beers and teach students the science of fermentation!
• A cash bar with adult beverages – including our own Fightin’ Hokies beer
• Traditional German music
• Lawn games for adults and kids alike!
• Door prizes and a prize raffle
• Some great FST merch
Registration is $10 and includes a $5 gift to the Food Science and Technology Annual Fund. Entry includes a raffle ticket and free commemorative OktoberFST t-shirt while supplies last. You'll have an opportunity to make an additional gift to the Joseph E. Marcy Student Support fund, which we established in memory of former Department Head and Professor Dr. Joe Marcy, who passed away this year.
Current FST students and children ages 12 and under are free.
