About us
The School of Communication studies how we create, distribute, and interpret messages through media systems while gaining hands-on experience in crafting and publishing persuasive messages. In the School of Communication, we offer five majors: advertising, communication, multimedia journalism, public relations, and sports media and analytics. You will have the opportunity to work hands-on in our state-of-the-art digital studio, to intern with national firms, and work directly with clients. We also offer two graduate programs in Communication and Reputation Management. Our faculty specialize in mass communication (media effects and criticism; journalism and communication law) and public advocacy and social influence (political communication, public relations and issue management; campaign communication).

𝐅𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡: Communication Law with Dr. Cayce Myers was hands down my favorite class. I also LOVED working at the CommLab with Brandi Quesenberry! 𝐂𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐣𝐨𝐛 𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐥𝐞: Senior PR Manager 𝐅𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐣𝐨𝐛: I am fortunate to work with some incredibly talented people in the communications, marketing and technology industries. It’s energizing to work together to execute creative projects, share thought provoking ideas from our seasoned experts and build a brand that’s synonymous with excellence. 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬: Embrace new challenges and opportunities. My first full-time job was in cybersecurity PR, a field I had virtually no experience in. Today, I have a rewarding and successful career that may not have transpired had I shied away from learning something new.
