6-7:15 p.m.

Port City Brewing Company

We are already leaving 5G behind. 6G combined with artificial intelligence will change how you live, work, and play. Dubbed NextG, learn how network speed and AI will transform transportation, energy, education, healthcare, agriculture, manufacturing, and more. In this talk, Luiz DaSilva will address how cybersecurity is an essential element of this intelligent network and how Virginia––already a leader in wireless communication and cybersecurity research––stands to help shape the NextG evolution.

Luiz DaSilva is the inaugural executive director of the Commonwealth Cyber Initiative. He is internationally recognized for leadership and innovation in wireless communications and networks research. He is also the Bradley Professor of Cybersecurity in Virginia Tech’s Bradley Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and a Belgian beer lover in an IPA phase.

The Commonwealth Cyber Initiative is establishing Virginia as a global center of excellence at the intersection of security, autonomous systems, and data.

This event will be hosted IN-PERSON by Port City Brewery. Masks are required for all attendees. Proof of vaccination is required for all events in the Port City brewing room. Please bring either your vaccination card or a photo of the card, along with a photo ID for admission. We look forward to seeing you at Port City Brewing Company: 3950 Wheeler Avenue, Alexandria, VA, 22304.
